Conference Summary for the Third Annual Conference of International Fireworks Association
The Third Session of the Executive Committee of IFA held in the Grand SunCity Resort on October 29, 2007. Attendees: Vice-president: Mr. Xu Qiangguao; Secretary-General: Mr. Liu Donghui; Commissioners of the Executive Committee: Bengt I. Henriksen, Wu Siyuan, Liu Aiqing, Chad Barrett, Liu Jihua. President Mr. Yang Shengjun, Vice- president Mrs. Julie L. Heckman, Commissioners Mr. Mao Haoji and Jiang Mugeng cannot attend the conference with their working schedule, Mrs. Long Xuejun behalf of Mr. Yang Shengjun and Mr. Hu Xiaoqing behalf of Mr. Jing Mugeng to attend the conference. All the IFA Staff attend the conference.
Secretary- General Mr. Liu Donghui hosted the conference. The subject on the working program of this Executive Committee, the summary as following:
The main viewpoint from the conference is that the establishment of IFA is in short term, but its get authorization from China, United States, Europe and other regions or government, especially made great contributions to fireworks transportation difficulties in 2006. This Executive Committee take up with develop association membership, strengthen association finance, make association more internationalization.
1¡¢Applying for Committee of UN Transport of Dangerous Goods , participating international affairs and strive for voice on fireworks industry.
2. Apply for International Symposium On Fireworks. This Symposium holds once two years, and involves comprehensive subjects. The 11th Symposium hold in Mexico, IFA should attend the symposium for familiar with schedule and procedure. At present, the Secretariat should make full preparation for application, and strive for the sponsor of the 11th Symposium. The Committee commended Bengt I. Henriksen express the will to the organizer of the Symposium, and commended Bengt I. Henriksen assisted us for contact.
Promoting the step of the Expert Committee, participating the international affairs on fireworks actively, making efforts to unify world fireworks standard.
3¡¢The First International Artistic Fireworks Competition made a great affect, and it should hold annually. The members have the priority to participate the competition under the equal condition.
Additionally, the meeting made the decision that Mr. Li Jian and Mr. Cao Xuming hold the title of the honorary president continuously.
The meeting gave some suggestions to International Fireworks Association Secretariat:
Firstly, the members contact should make more detailed and exact;
Secondly, the members of the Expert Committee should be awarded the Letter of Appointment;
Thirdly, IFA Secretariat should make working schedule;
Fourthly, should remind the members for the date of the annual membership fees.
